Aowei 8.6L engine with intellectual property and international advanced level is put into production at FAW Wuxi Diesel Engine Plant. The launch celebration ceremony was held at the plant's final assembling shop on Jan. 13. Vice-president Dong Chunbo of FAW Group and Vice-mayor Tan Xueming of Wuxi city attended the ceremony and unveiled for the engine.

Following the development trend of automotive market, FAW Wuxi Diesel develops the common rail electronic control engine (CA6DL2-35E3) with world advanced high-pressure common rail technique and brand new design concept. Launch of the engine means that FAW is able to produce big power, energy-saving and environmental protective product for high-duty commercial vehicles.

Self-developed Aowei 8.6L engine

The engine has the advantages of high power, low emission, low noise, low fuel-consumption and long durability. Emission of the engine now can meet Euro III, and possibly reach IV in the future. The maximum output of the engine reaches 350 hp.. Fuel consumption and noise of the engine is the lowest compared with the same level products in China. Since the improvement of the mechanical and heat load strength of the engine, its durability and reliability are improved. Experts comment that CA6DL2-35E2 has certain advantage over famous world brands with same displacement in the technical criteria. The engine will surely become the optimum power for medium and heavy-duty trucks and luxury coaches.

CA6DL2-35E3 Euro III electronic control common rail diesel engine, is self-developed on the base of Aowei CA6DL1-32E3 engine, which was down production line in the last year. Estimated output of the engine will be 15,000 in 2007 and 30,000 in 2008. Production of the engine symbols that R & D system for electronic control diesel engine has been established at FAW Wuxi Diesel and FAW's Aowei engine has reached international advanced level.
